I found a great use for the iPads. While giving the DRA and word list tests, I taped the students reading. I was then able to show parents at conference time. What a big help! A picture (video in this case) really is worth a thousand words. The parent could see and hear what I mean when I say the need to work on fluency. They see their own child struggling to sound out words and/or reading like a robot with no expression. Students who are at or above grade level can see how they can improve expression.
