Well the first few weeks of school have flown by.  My students have been enjoying our new computers.  It has been especially wonderful since my older computers have frozen, locked up and had a virus.  It has been wonderful to have working computers in the room.  I took headshots of each of my students and these photos are the screen saver.  The students love to see their picture on the computer screen. (except for the student who asked me to re-take her picture because she didn't like the one she saw on the screen.)  It has been great to have the computers available for use as a center.
I called MIT in Mass. to have them send me a poster to put up on my college wall. I thought a poster from MIT for my MIT classroom would be inspiring.   I hope it inspires my kids!
We FINALLY got the iPads!!!! The students have loved being able to try out the different apps and use the camera.  They really like photobooth, especially the thermal camera.
I have been using the video camera to take videos of students working in class to show parents at conferences.
I think they will be very helpful for IEP's also.  It is the perfect way to share with parents what there child is doing in the classroom.  It has even helped me to notice some students who are having some difficulty with gross motor skills during PE.
I look forward to learning more about the technology and my students in the upcoming months!
